Golden Farm Thoroughbreds Limited was founded in May 2020 with a view to buying a number of high-quality broodmares to breed Flat racehorses on a commercial basis. Investors were invited to join on a five-year cycle where the ultimate purpose of the company was to produce yearlings for sale.

Following the successful launch of Golden Farm Thoroughbreds, a second fund named Golden Farm Bloodstock Limited was launched in 2021 that was open to both existing and new investors.

With all Golden Farm investment funds, there is a great amount of emphasis placed on achieving the highest standard of corporate governance, transparency, communication and professionalism. With this in mind, Andrew Yates manages all legal and financial aspects of Golden Farm Thoroughbreds as well as being the main point of contact for investors.

In 2022, Golden Farm Thoroughbreds sold their first yearlings at public auction, with a colt by Soldier’s Call out of Rush realising £105,000 at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale. This was soon followed by the sale of a colt by Ten Sovereigns out of Tracing that made 70,000gns at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale, capping an excellent first year of sales for the fund.

In the summer of 2024, Golden Farm Thoroughbreds and Golden Farm Bloodstock were merged to consolidate their equine assets and benefit from enhanced economies of scales. Golden Farm Thoroughbreds now has a total of six broodmares in the fund and Paul McKeon has taken the reins as Chairman.
