Since 2020, two individual investment funds based out of Golden Farm have been formed, raised capital and launched.
These funds were designed to make the dream of breeding top-class thoroughbreds accessible to outside investors in commercial ventures that aim to deliver a long-term profit to those that get involved. As well as that, they also aim to achieve industry-leading standards of corporate governance, transparency, communication and professionalism so that all investors, particularly those that hadn’t been involved in the thoroughbred business before, have the confidence to invest.
In terms of communications, investors are kept in the loop with regular multimedia updates on their horses. In acknowledgment of the fact that many investors have limited experience in the bloodstock world, this content aims to educate as well as inform. When the funds are active at the sales, be it as buyers or sellers, the investors are kept up to date with all aspects of the process which has made for a very immersive experience for the investors.
Kevin Blake is responsible for buying, boarding and managing the horses owned by both Golden Farm Thoroughbreds and Golden Farm Bloodstock, while Andrew Yates manages all the legal and financial aspects of the funds, as well as being the main point of contact for investors.
Andrew has been employed with Bus Éireann since 2011, holding roles such as Business Development Manager and Bid Director prior to becoming Head of Expressway. He has been a passionate follower of horse racing from a young age.
